FAQ
How it works
How Does the Process Work
It all starts with a chat about your home and what you’d like to achieve. We’ll arrange a free, no-obligation home survey to look at your space, discuss your options and recommend a suitable system.
After your survey, we’ll send you a clear quote outlining the proposed installation and costs. If you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll arrange a convenient installation date and take care of the agreed work, keeping you informed along the way.
Do I Need a Survey Before Getting a Quote?
Yes. Every home is different, so a survey helps us understand your layout, where the units could go and what’s needed to install your system properly and safely.
We’ll talk through your needs, answer your questions and recommend a suitable option for your home and budget. Your quote will then be based on your property, so you know what to expect before making a decision.
How Long Does Installation Take?
After the survey and our units have arrived, home installations take around 1–2 days, depending on the number of indoor units, the layout of your home and the complexity of the work.
A straightforward 1 unit installation may take less time, while larger multi-room systems or installations requiring additional electrical work can take a little longer.
Do We Need to do Anything
We ask that you clear the areas where the indoor units will be fitted and make sure we have access to the outdoor unit location. It also helps to move any furniture or belongings away from the areas where we’ll be working.
We’ll take care of the installation itself and aim to leave your home tidy when we’re finished.
Air Conditioning Suitability
Can Air Conditioning Heat My Home as Well as Cool it?
Yes. Modern air conditioning systems provide both cooling and heating.
They work as air-to-air heat pumps, making them an efficient way to heat and cool your home using a single system. It’s a great way to enjoy a comfortable temperature whatever the British weather throws at us.
Is Air Conditioning Expensive to Run?
Air conditioning can be surprisingly economical to run. Modern systems are very efficient, by transferring heat in or out rather than generate it from scratch.
Depending on what you’re currently using to heat your home, it could even work out cheaper than your existing heating. And with heating in winter and cooling in summer, you get year-round comfort from one system.
Is Air Conditioning Noisy?
Not at all! Modern domestic systems are designed to run quietly, especially on lower fan settings. You’ll hear a gentle airflow indoors, while the outdoor unit is often comparable to the hum of a fridge.
We’ll consider the best position for your units to help keep things peaceful.
Can You Install Air Conditioning in Any Home?
Many homes are suitable, including older properties, modern houses and extensions. We have installed in 200 year old cottages and new builds.
Each installation needs to be assessed for room size, insulation, pipework routes, electrical supply and a suitable outdoor unit location. During your free, no-obligation survey, we’ll assess your home and recommend what will work for you.
Do I Need an Air Conditioning Unit in Every Room?
Not at all, but one indoor unit won’t necessarily heat or cool an entire house evenly.
Open-plan layouts may be easier to serve than homes with separate rooms, closed doors or long corridors.
We’ll look at your layout and how you use each space to recommend either a single-room system or a multi-split system serving several rooms.
Installation and Aftercare
Does Air Conditioning Need Regular Maintenance?
Air conditioning units contain specialist components that need to be checked and maintained correctly, so any internal cleaning or maintenance must be left to a suitably qualified professional.
What Happens Once the Installation is Complete?
Still have questions?
Choosing the right air conditioning system starts with understanding your home and what matters to you.
Whether you’re fed up with stuffy bedrooms in summer or simply want to be comfortable whatever the weather, we’re happy to talk through your options.
